Equine Bodywork
Customized bodywork sessions are tailored to the invidual horse. As a licensed massage and bodywork therapist and my from a variety of methodologies and as a licensed human massage and bodywork therapist with training in equine specific modalities such as Equine Bowenwork (stimulation of the nervous, musculoskeletal, and fascial systems and the energetic pathways), Equine Reiki (energy work), Masterson Method (integrated equine performance bodywork), Equissage certification (traditional equine sports massage therapy), and Healing Touch for Animals (energy healing), I am able to bring a very diverse and customized approach to each individual horse.
Bowenwork is a specific technique that includes breif pauses following or between sequences of moves which provides the horse with time and space for processing, reorganization, and integration. Because of these pauses I can offer the opportunity to work on a second horse or the rider clothed on my massage table during the same session time. This shared bodywork session experience between horse and rider can deepen their connection in addition to balancing tension patterns in both horse and rider.
Because this work stacks on itself and in working with horses it is all about developing relationship and trust with them so it is best to plan on three sessions about a week apart initially to unravel enough for lasting change as well as to evaluate what will be the best plan for the individual horse moving forward.
